Provenance for internet culture

Every meme
has a maker.

Origin connects internet culture to the people who made it. One record ties together the original work, where it was first posted, and the creator behind it, so the maker stays attached when the moment spreads.

How it works

One record.
Three connections.

  1. The work

    Show the original.

The image, clip, character or sound as it first appeared, before the crops, edits and reposts.

  2. The source

    Link the first post.

Where it was first published, so anyone can follow the trail back to the start.

  3. The creator

    Put the maker on it.

The person who made it, in their own words: how it started and what it means to them.

Creator review comes next. Origin will check source links, account control and rights before any record is marked as reviewed.

What it’s for

Built for the stuff
the internet runs on.

If you made something people now copy, remix or post without knowing where it came from, it belongs on a record.

Tokens

Two different tokens.
Keep them apart.

The Origin coin supports building the platform. Creator tokens are a future feature for creators themselves. Today, no token is launched through Origin.

Our project coin

The Origin coin

Origin’s own coin. Creator fees it actually receives fund Origin’s development, starting with creator review and then launch tools.

Roadmap

Built in order.
Funded as it goes.

  1. Live

    Website and record builder

Draft your origin record and download it. Drafts stay on your device.

  2. Next

    Creator review

Applications, source evidence and a manual review before any record is marked as reviewed.

  3. Later

    Creator token launches

Token creation and fee routing, built after review is working.

How this gets built: the automated stages are funded only by creator fees the Origin coin actually receives. There’s no guaranteed completion date. If funding falls short, a stage waits.

FAQ

Good to know.

What is Origin?

A place that connects internet culture with its original creators. Each origin record links a work, its first source and the person who made it. Creator review and launch tools are planned next.

Can I launch a token through Origin today?

No. Token launching is coming soon. Origin doesn’t connect wallets, request signatures, accept funds or create tokens yet.

Is my draft record saved or verified?

No. Your draft lives only in this browser tab and is never sent anywhere. It isn’t published, submitted or reviewed. Download it if you want to keep it.

How is development funded?

Through creator fees the Origin coin actually receives. Those fees pay for creator review first, then launch tools. There’s no fixed completion date, and if funding falls short, work waits.

Is the Origin coin a creator token?

No. The Origin coin is the project’s own coin. Creator tokens will be launched by creators from their reviewed records once that feature exists. Holding the Origin coin doesn’t give ownership of Origin, its revenue or any creator’s work.

Does an origin record prove I own something?

A reviewed record will document a creator’s connection to a work and the evidence behind it. It isn’t a legal ruling on copyright and says nothing about a token’s value.

It started with someone.
